Lillian Downs

Lillian L. Otts-Downs, 102, of Malvern went home to be with the Lord on June 11, 2015. Lillian was born March 17, 1913 in Donaldson, AR to John and Phenia (Sirratt) White. Lillian was a volunteer at the nursing homes in Malvern, and a member of the Extension Homemaker Club, the Senior Center, and 3^rd Baptist Church. She was a “doer”, always busy, doing something. She loved to play bingo and thoroughly enjoyed cooking.  She could grow the most beautiful flowers and loved canning the vegetables that came out of her garden. Lillian was a Godly woman who had a servant’s heart.

Lillian is predeceased by her parents; husband, Bob Otts; husband, Tom Downs; and 8 brothers & sisters, Lloyd, Floyd, Lois, Leonard, Roy, Jack, Letha, & Lola Mae White.

Lillian is survived by her step-daughter, Carol (Loy) Porterfield of Hot Springs; sister-in-law, Lovell White of Bismarck; 3 grandchildren, Thom Porterfield, Phil Porterfield, and Karen Porterfield-Street; 6 great-grandchildren; and a large extended family that loved her dearly.

Visitation will be Sunday, June 14, 2015 from 3:00 until 5:00 PM at Atkinson Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be Monday, June 15, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Atkinson Chapel with Bro. Milt Porterfield officiating. Burial will follow at Fairplay Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny White, Tommy White, Matt McClenahan, Mason McClenahan, Don McClenahan, Kathy Hughes, and Susan Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be A.J. Harrison, Rufus Vaught, the staff at the Crossing, and the staff at Gentiva Hospice.
